The Si-PIN detector is the core detection component of X-ray fluorescence spectrometers and X-ray diffraction instruments, and has long been monopolized by enterprises from Germany and the United States. Since its establishment in 2019, Core Optoelectronics has set the goal of "domestic production of high-performance silicon-based detectors", focused on the upstream of the industrial chain, and established an IDM model integrating chip design, wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing, and component development, achieving full control of the entire industrial chain.
PA350 and PA200 are the two main products launched by the company for the XRF market. Industry Depth: From Single Product Breakthrough to Systemic Capability
The continuous increase in sales is inseparable from the support of systematic capabilities. The six-inch semiconductor production line of Core Optoelectronics located in Shanting District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, has an annual production capacity of 60,000 to 120,000 wafers, covering more than 100 types of silicon detector products. Its independently developed ion implantation (OII) process has raised the product final qualification rate to 99.7%, far exceeding the international industry average of 80%.
The broader industrial picture is that, starting with Si-PIN detectors as a breakthrough point, Core Optoelectronics is extending its technological capabilities to more advanced silicon drift detectors (SDD), medical CT PD planar array detectors, and other fields. General Manager Cao Xuelai disclosed that the energy resolution of the SDD detector component system has reached 131 eV @ 5.9 keV, reaching the international advanced level. In 2025, the company, in collaboration with Shandong University, Senovision, etc., submitted the project "Development and Industrialization of Back-illuminated Four-sided Interchangeable Detector Modules for Medical CT", which was approved for the key research and development plan of Shandong Province.
